Here I am again, sitting at 67^th and Columbus, surrounded by one (homeless?) man who’ve I’ve seen a few times, five teenagers who five minutes ago were talking about “those hoes” and are now passed out on top of each other, a few random people with glazed over looks on their faces, and a lazy-ass barista who is mopping the floor half-heartedly and had probably spit in my triple shot extra hot mocha earlier.

Yep, the second semester of my boyfriend’s (let’s call him B) first year at dental school has officially begun, and I feel like freshman year all over again, with 4 years of school looming ahead of me. Except, when I was really a freshman, I only drank during celebratory occasions and thought those who drank regularly were losers. Now, I sit jacked up on coffee, waiting for B to be done for the night (morning?) and reward me for being a patient* girlfriend with food and alcohol from Cafeteria.

Welcome to my world of roses and waterfalls.

It’s gonna be a long winter.

*Patient meaning I text him every couple minutes (though I’m sitting across the table from him) and interrupt him with my annoying commentary on our surroundings, or as he put it, “the homeless people and ethnically challenged of NYC.” This is my new posse.

PS.  This was written at 4:40am but as 24 hour Starbucks’ are a piece of crap (Do you hear that, Starbucks Corporate?!?!), I was not able to link to the internet, otherwise known as my lifeline.
